People have a habit of often looking back at the years gone by and saying to themselves: “if I knew 10 years ago what I know now I would have done a lot of things better, I would have dared more, advanced myself more…”
And the truth is that it is one big “B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T”. This is merely a story that they are buying.
What you were able to do ten years ago, is still open to you today… and even bigger opportunities, because you have an added wisdom which you have acquired along the way.
Let’s start with the idea that time does not exist, there is just one moment that is shared by us all and that is the present moment.
This counting of the years is something that man invented; it is not something that exists in nature.
If you were born in some remote village that no one there would have heard about the counting of time and years which we use in the west, you would never know how old you are and it wouldn’t really interest you.
Biologically, you are reborn every moment! Your cells renew every moment, with every breath you inhale new air and refill with life’s energy.
No one in nature cares about its age other than man.
I have as yet met a tree that thinks its old, not a camel frog or cat.
I don’t even think that the mountains, the lakes and the ocean care about their age.
This moon that you and I look at every night, is the same moon that Abraham Avinu (our father Abraham) looked at every night before bed… can you call him old? The moon will smile at you…because it is present in the eternal now.
So this patheticness is probably present only with the “wisest” creatures on earth.
But I haven’t come today to talk about our pathetic behaviour or about the almost total lack of coordination with nature.
Every birthday there is some sort of sense that “another year has gone by…” and this derives from our culture that supports the motto “time is money” or “time is an expensive thing”, “life belongs to the young” etc…
The world belongs to whoever belongs to the world. And as long as you are part of the world, it’s your world.
Time is undoubtedly precious, to the person who internally holds a passion that has not been realized.
A negative awareness to time, comes from passions which have not been expressed, it comes from a feeling of loss/missing out.
“I could have done this and this… But I didn’t.”
And then the only asset you have left is the years to come when you may realize this internal promise, the passion that wants to be expressed…but what can you do, the west knows only too well how to count the years and every day that passes and every year that passes, reduce from the value of this asset known as time.
If, when your birthday is getting closer you have this feeling of “S-H-I-T! Another year gone by…? How time flies…” it means that you have some unfinished business internally, there is some regret towards something you have not realized.
There is a desire to a life that you have not yet realized!
So if you are not one of the optimists that can get “better with age” even when it’s on account of unrealized passions, and if you were not born in a remote village in a far away country, the following trick can be especially effective.
Every time your birthday is drawing near, declare to yourself, or in public if you fancy, that you are ten years younger.
Yes, you have read and heard correctly…
What does it mean to declare that you are ten years younger?
Let’s say you are 32, so you simply declare that on your next birthday you are about to turn 22.
What’s the matter? Someone said you are not allowed? In any case time is an invention, right? Who really knows how old you are, and on the back of what do you measure?
By the present clock, which is the only clock that is accurate in the universe, you are a second old… one continuous second.
A fresh and clear moment, a real moment.
So if the western clock is only an idea, you are allowed to play with the years however you choose.
Ask that on your cake will be your real age, which is ten years less than what people think… it will be funny, try it… at least people will be smiling in the room.
The time which we are used to living by is only a psychological time, we live in a past and future that don’t exist.
There is no need to inject Botox, we are all made of one godly eternal ageless material, it’s only thought that plays with us.
You are not as old as you are; you are the son of this moment only.
Practice this exercise of taking ten years off your age which is merely indicated by two mathematical numbers and no more…two numbers make all the difference.
What will it do to you? You will experience much happiness that will open up new possibilities; it will give you more life.
For example, if you were now celebrating your birthday and declaring for the purpose of the game that you are ten years younger than your current age, you would really believe it…
What things would you do because at the moment you have given up on them because you are too old for such things?
What would you dare to do? What dream would you realize? What would you go for?
I am sure that very interesting things are coming up, the dreams you almost gave up on are starting to get a new life.
What dreams do you feel like realizing now that you are ten years younger, when the fire of desire is burning inside you and the future is open before you?
Imagine it for a moment…tell yourself about the things that you would dare to do…
Feel this power…
Yes. It has nothing to do with age, right?
Your mind played a trick on you…you’ve turned out to be a bit of a jerk…
Don’t worry, it’s not just you, many fall prey to this nonsense of limiting thoughts that society sells them.
You are indeed ten years younger, I am declaring this for you and hope that you are with me on this…
There is a saying that old age is something that is at least 15 years older than you… believe this and you will never be old.
Well, the time has come young person, to start realizing you wildest dreams and to shine in a new light!
Get on your way!!!
